Vadim Arsky is a saxophonist, conductor and arranger. He got his Bachelor degree from University of Brasilia - Brazil and his Masters from University of Louisville, both in saxophone performance. From 1990 to 1994, he was the coordinator of the wind instruments department at the CLAM, Centro Livre de Aprendizagem Musical, Brazilian music school in São Paulo directed by the Zimbo Trio specialized in teaching Bossa-Nova. Since 1994, he is the saxophone professor of the University of Brasília where he also teaches chamber music, theory, jazz and Bossa Nova studies, and where he started a popular music program by putting together a jazz band. Arsky was the winner of the Eldorado Prize in 1991. This prize is the most important prize for classical music performance in Brazil where all instruments compete together and there is only one winner. He was also the semifinalist of the East and West Competition for the Carnegie Hall in 1995. As a saxophone player, he develops a carrier as a soloist, chamber musician and is a member of the Com Domínio do Sax. From 2006 to 2013 he was the director of bands of the American School of Brasilia where he taught about 600 middle and high school students enrolled in the program. In 2015 he moved to Florida to pursue his PhD degree in Music Education at University of Florida in Gainesville and joined the Jacare Brazil ensemble, being the official arranger for the group.
